About HJT-Holz
A family owned business and a pioneer company in the industry of ThermoWood®
We are a Finnish family-owned company specializing in the production and further processing of thermally treated wood. Our business was started in the year of 1997 which makes us truly a pioneer company in the industry ThermoWood®. With strong industry experience, the company employs patented production techniques to ensure the quality of our end products.
Going global from Mänttä-Vilppula with trademarked ThermoWood® products
Our roots are in the heart of Finnish forestry industry. There are over 15 sawmills nearby our plant in Mänttä-Vilppula which creates the basis to our business: We know our suppliers and lumber being sourced. Our company operates with six kilns and our annual ThermoWood® production capacity is approximately 40,000 m3, with a significant portion, around 95%, being exported.
As a member of the Finnish Thermowood Association since 2000, we have the right to use the association’s ThermoWood® trademark. This signifies our commitment to quality control and research, conducted in collaboration with the Thermowood Association.

Raw ThermoWood®
Thermomodified Softwood Class D
We are able to deliver all basic dimensions of sawn timber as heat-treated and trademarked ThermoWood® D-products. Letter D stands for duraibility. In addition to appearance, biological durability is a key feature in the final applications of products in this category.
Thermomodified Hardwood Class D and S
Hardwood and other tree species can be modified also with thermal treatments in order to add stability or durability depending the final application of the product. About 20 % of our annual capasity of 40 000 m3 is hardwoods or other exotic species.
Thermomodified Softwood Class S
We are able to deliver all basic dimensions of sawn timber as heat-treated and trademarked ThermoWood® S-products. Letter S stands for stability. In addition to appearance, stability is a crucial characteristic in the final applications of products in this category.
