Thermotimber - Free from additives |
Heat treatment is suitable for all types of wood. It considerably improves the decay resistance of wood and is a natural way of protecting wood.
There is no need to use any toxic chemicals. Vacuum drying ensures high quality and prevents wood from being damaged by heat treatment (hardwood, in particular).
The most popular applications for different types of wood:
- Pine: Terraces, floorboards
- Spruce: Exterior cladding, wall elements
- Birch: Floors, stairs, joinery
- Aspen: Saunas, interior decoration
It is advisable to treat surfaces continuously exposed to sunlight with substances providing UV protection. We also provide advice on the fastenings and glues best suited to the application.
When used externally, heat-treated wood should always be protected with wood oil, unless you prefer the wood to become patinated by greying
